ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Janna Drexl studied Process Engineering (emphasis on biotechnology) in Hamburg (Germany) and Gothenburg (Sweden) and, during her course of studies, worked with Roche Diagnostics (R&D) in Penzberg (Germany) for one year.
CAREER AS A PATENT ATTORNEY
Janna was admitted as a German Patent Attorney and European Design and Trademark Attorney in 2010 and as a European Patent Attorney in 2012.
One of Janna’s specialisms is the drafting of patent and utility model applications and to present the latter before the competent patent offices. Other core disciplines of hers are opposition and appeal proceedings in the areas of biotechnology, genetics, molecular biology, process and medical engineering, as well as nutrition and environmental technology. Janna is also involved in evaluating property right portfolios, advising on employee invention issues and processing trademark applications.
Janna joined Dehmel & Bettenhausen in 2007.
