ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
Antje Ferchland studied law at the University of Constance (Germany). She served her legal clerkship at the District Court of Bremen (Germany) in a division specialized in commercial matters and trademark and competition law as well as in a nationally operating firm of patent and specialist lawyers. This enabled her to become intimately familiarized with the protection of intellectual property. Having passed her 2nd state examination, Antje went on to read Intellectual Property and Information Technology in Hannover (Germany) and Glasgow (Scotland) and subsequently obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) and has been admitted as an attorney-at-law in 2003.
CAREER AS A LAWYER
Antje joined the firm Dehmel & Bettenhausen in 2003.
She is primarily involved with drafting and negotiation of all manner of contracts, e.g. material-transfer agreements, license, cooperation and IP purchase agreements. Antje is further engaged in the application for and enforcement of trademarks, with trademark infringement disputes, patent infringement disputes, copyrights as well as competition and IT law. Her clients are German and international, so she regularly uses both the German and English languages in the performance of her duties.
